Thanks to Entertainment Weekly (who should probably never be trusted with a photoshoot again after their abysmal Terminator Genisys spread a couple of years ago), our first look at Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword was pretty divisive. That mostly seemed to stem from the fact that Charlie Hunman was just lying there, ahem, caressing his sword!

Luckily, this action-packed trailer for the movie makes it clear that it’s one we should be looking forward to, especially as Ritchie’s trademark style is on display from the very start.

When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern, Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.

The cast also includes Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Jude Law, Eric Bana, and Djimon Honsou, and King Arthur: Legends of the Sword (which Warner Bros. is hoping will be the first in as many as six movies telling this epic tale) is currently set to be released on February 17th, 2017.
