If you’re holding out for a new Harry Potter novel or movie, then we have some very bad news for you. While there’s been talk of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child being adapted for the big screen after its theatre run, author J.K. Rowling has confirmed in a new interview that Harry’s story is over now, and that the two part stage production will be what wraps it up.

“Yeah, I think we’re done,” Rowling said at the Palace Theatre during the debut of the two-part stage play which is set 19 years after The Deathly Hallows (released back in 2007).

While the children of Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco all play a key role in The Cursed Chilld, Rowling adding that the one time Boy Wizard also “goes on a very big journey during these two plays,” and that then his story will be complete. She also made it clear that while she’s “thrilled to see” the next generation of the Potter family brought to life, “Harry is done now.”

Rowling would go on to confirm that she “”never wanted to write another novel,” but feels like this play “will give the fans something special.” By the sound of it, that will be the end of Harry’s story, but seeing as the author has penned a Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel and is planning a third, she’s clearly not leaving this world behind just yet!
