As with Finding Neverland, Miss Potter, Saving Mr. Banks and the recent Kill your Darlings the cinematic biopic of well known authors continue to inspire filmmakers and sate an audience excited to know more about the creative process.

The first images from the Film Formerly Known as Goodbye, Christopher Robin (now known as Simon Curtis’ Untitled A. A. Milne project) have arrived. Showing off the post WW1 world of Winnie the Pooh writer Milne and his family we get our first look at Domhnall Gleeson and Margot Robbie as Milne and his wife with Will Tilston as the young Christopher Robin.

The film was written by Frank Cottrell Boyce and Simon Vaughan and has this detailed synopsis,

The UNTITLED A.A. MILNE film gives a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children’s author A. A. Milne (Domhnall Gleeson) and his son Christopher Robin, whose toys inspired the magical world of Winnie the Pooh.

Along with his mother Daphne (Margot Robbie), and his nanny Olive (Kelly Macdonald), Christopher Robin and his family are swept up in the international success of the books; the enchanting tales bringing hope and comfort to England after the First World War.

But with the eyes of the world on Christopher Robin, what will the cost be to the family?

Who knows? We can’t wait to find out…

Here are the first images.
