“In 2002 my investigation ceased, but my personal obsession did not,” says Mulder in this new trailer for The X-Files, and that’s a line which is sure to give you chills if you were a fan of the long running series. In fact, there are a lot of fan pleasing moments in our first proper look at this revival, and it’s hard not to get excited upon hearing that iconic music kick in.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are reprising the roles of FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, and the series is set to run for six episodes. If it ends up being a ratings hit, who knows what might follow. For now, plot details are still being kept a secret and rumours continue to do the rounds about some familiar X-Files cast members (Snnabeth Gish and Robert Patrick’s Monica Reyes and John Doggett for example) also making a return.

The X-Files has even added some fresh blood in Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose!

Series creator Chris Carter will write and direct three of the six episodes with original series veterans Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan, and James Wong writing and directing the other three.
