Granik is best known for writing and directing the critically acclaimed Winter’s Bone, which has been gaining some momentum in this years awards race.

The series of beloved books by author Astrid Lindgren are well-known around the world, tracking the titular, red haired girl who lives in a house dubbed Villa Villekulla with her monkey and horse.

No word on if this is something she might direct, but it’s certainly tantalising news.
