Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves are all set to team up on screen together for a third time in the Victor Levin-directed comedy, Destination Wedding.

The pair had their first onscreen pairing back in 1992 in Francis Ford Coppola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula, almost 14 years later the pair were reunited on Richard Linklater’s A Scanner Darkly. Now another ten years have passed, Ryder and Reeves felt it only right to renew their onscreen vows in a comedy which follows two miserable and unpleasant wedding guests, both pariahs at this affair, who develop a mutual affection despite themselves. But to act on those feelings would be to trust hope over experience, a foolish choice indeed.

With principal photography already finished in California, Sunshine Pictures Gail Lyon, who sits in the producers chair on the picture alongside Two Camel Films’ Elizabeth Dell and The Fyzz Facility’s Robert Jones, stated how well the pair work together on screen “Keanu and Winona bring a lot of history and chemistry to their roles, which adds a wonderful dimension to their performances and their dynamic.”

Jones went on to comment about working on the film, giving high praise to both the performances of the actors and the material.  “When comedy is seated in character and truth it’s both funny and moving, and on that basis, Vic’s screenplay is one of the best I’ve read in a long time. Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves are wonderfully skilful actors and their chemistry onscreen truly brings these irascible characters to life. Their unswerving commitment to the project is a testament to both material and director.”

Ryder will reprise her role as Joyce Byers in the phenomenal Netflix series Stranger Things in its second season due to be available from October 27th, Reeve’s who thrilled once again in the John Wick follow-up Chapter 2, will again reprise his role in Chapter 3 whilst returning to the goofball comedy Bill and Ted, both are yet to get a release date.
