Young Sheldon is the series spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory and follows the character of Sheldon Cooper at the age of nine, prior to his time at Caltech, where he is living with his family in East Texas and starting high school early. It’s 1989 and young Sheldon Cooper has skipped four grades to start high school at the same time as his less-intellectual older brother. As he struggles to be understood by his family, classmates and neighbours, his mother arms him with the best tool she can come up with: reminding bullies his dad is the football coach and his brother is on the team. His twin sister doesn’t share his exceptional mind, but she has a much clearer vision of what life has in store for the young genius. Jim Parsons, who portrays the adult version of Sheldon on “The Big Bang Theory,” narrates the series.

Catch up on the penultimate series of The Big Bang Theory before the final series airs this September. As with the previous seasons, season eleven is packed full of fantastic cameos. The premiere episode hosts a final on screen appearance from theoretical physicist and genius; Stephen Hawking, the star-studded guest line up also includes Bill Gates, Neil Gaiman, Mark Hamill and Kathy Bates. With babies, pregnancies and weddings all in the offing, our favourite nerds are a long way from when we first met them ten years ago. Plus this season answers our biggest question; ‘will we finally see Sheldon and Amy make it to the alter?’
