To mark the release of ITV Studios Global entertainments classic movies limited collector’s edition steelbooks, we’ve been given a bundle of them to give away. The bundle includes The Red Shoes, The Eagle Has Landed, The Shawshank Redemption and Bugsy Malone.
The Red Shoes
This Powell and Pressberger masterpiece is widely considered to one of the greatest films ever made. Vicky a young Ballerina, becomes torn between her love for composer Julian Craster and artistic devotion to her profession, which is dominated by impresario Lermontov.
The Eagle Has Landed
A Nazi Strike Force plots to assassinate Winston Churchill while he is resting in a desolate Norfolk village. Colonel Radl (Robert Duvall) masterminds the plot which, if successful, would change the outcome of the war. He enlists the help of Colonel Steiner (Michael Caine) and Liam Devlin (Donald Sutherland). Disguised as Polish airman. German paratroopers land in England. Radl’s plan appears to be going smoothly until an unforeseeable incident exposes the Germans. But the kidnap continues and Steiner, Luger in hand, approaches the unmistakable figure of Churchill. The action and suspense are unrelenting in this World War 2 thriller based on Jack Higgins best seller.
The Shawshank Redemption
Fear can you hold you prisoner… Hope can set you free. Nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor (Morgan Freeman) this film is an extraordinary tale of hope, friendship and survival inside a maximum security prison.
Bugsy Malone
Alan Parker’s kids gangster musical satire is amongst the best loved movies of 1970’s and features a great cast, catchy song and dance routines and hilarious slapstick comedy. New York, 1929 a war rages between two rival gangsters. Fat Sam and Dandy Dan. Dan is in possession of a new and deadly weapon, the dreaded ‘splurge gun’. As the custard pies fly, Bugsy Malone (Happy Days Scot Baio) an all-round nice guy, falls for Blousey Brown, a singer at Fat Sam’s speakeasy. His designs on her are disrupted by the seductive songstress Tallulah (double Academy award winner Jodie Foster) who wants Bugsy for herself.
