Here’s a neat dispatch from the set of Only God Forgives with Nicolas Winding Refn discussing the finer point of a climax with Ryan Gosling.
We also get to see Mr. Gosling throwing a few punches in preparation for his role as an errant cop-killer who runs a boxing club as a front to a drug dealing operation. Given their previous collaboration and the gritty tone expected of this film the jovial atmosphere, helped in no small part by Gosling’s deadpan delivery, is fun to see.
Gosling is joined in the film by Kristin Scott Thomas, Tom Burke and Vithaya Pansringarm and will play this month at Cannes. Exciting times.
