The film world is undergoing a seismic shift, with franchises and the familiar leading the tectonic moves in the multiplexes. Fifty Shades of Grey is one of those phenomena which causes the publishing world to shout loudly from the rooftops of the world, and with Sam Taylor-Johnson’s film adaptation now in cinemas you can bet all eyes will be on the box office come Monday morning.
The film’s stars, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, were never really going to get a fair deal, however they seem to have been able to stick to their respective guns through the first round of the publicity hoopla (there are two sequels on there way…). Our good friend James Kleinmann spoke to the pair this week to talk about the immense hype and how they each intend to meet it.
