David-Bowie-Fire-Walk-With-Me-

Well, friends, it’s finally happening.

After years of internet rumours, begging petitions, hopes raised and dashed, definitive answers from David Lynch and Mark Frost that we’ll never see them, the Twin Peaks Blu-ray boxset has finally been announced and it DOES have the deleted scenes from the prequel film Fire Walk with Me. Everything has been remastered and approved by Lynch himself, which was always a necessity for them seeing the light of day.

EW debuted the trailer for the boxset, which comprises of both seasons of the TV show and Fire Walk With Me, and it includes the holy grail for Twin Peaks fans – footage featuring the cast from the show which was excised by Lynch for the film. It’s appropriate on the days after critics attacked Cannes opener Grace of Monaco that this is announced, Fire Walk With Me notoriously disappointed fans of the show and was considered to be very hard for newcomers to appreciate.

In recent years it has been reappraised and is now considered one of Lynch’s best. I can’t wait.

Anyhoo – the set is out on the 29th of July and here, finally, is the trailer with some of the new footage.
