Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will provide the score to Gone Girl. The news was confirmed in a tweet posted on Reznor’s Twitter page.

Gone Girl, to be directed by David Fincher, stars Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Missi Pyle, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Scoot McNairy, Emily Ratajkowski and Boyd Holbrook, and is adapted from Gillian Flynn’s best selling novel.

The film will mark the third time Reznor and Ross have worked with Fincher, after collaborating with him on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Social Network, for which they were awarded an Academy Award for Best Original Score.

Set for release on October 3, Gone Girl concerns the story of Nick Dunne (Affleck), a married man whose life is thrown into disarray, when his wife (Pike) disappears on the day of their fifth wedding anniversary.
