Where do you go when you’ve conquered the Canine accommodation field with Hotel For Dogs?
The answer for director, the excellently named Thor Freudenthal, is to adapt a series of webcomic inspired illustrated novels charting the lives of a group of wimpy kids as they struggle with bullies, girls and tough teachers. Heard it all before? Maybe, but it’s a publishing phenomenon so in burst the Adaptation police to transform the line drawings to life.
Having said all of that the trailer doesn’t offend, in fact there’s a small chance this one will negotiate the cliche strewn minefield of school bound movies, and if nothing else the chance to see Hit-Girl Chloe Grace Moretz sans expletives is diverting.
