Amazon MGM Studios has officially hit start on one of its most anticipated adventure series. Production is now underway on ‘Tomb Raider,’ and to mark the occasion, Prime Video has unveiled a striking first-look image of Sophie Turner stepping into the boots of the legendary Lara Croft.
The newly released image offers the first glimpse of Turner’s Lara Croft, signalling a bold new chapter for the iconic archaeologist. Based on the globally beloved Tomb Raider video game franchise, the series follows the globe-trotting exploits of Lara Croft, a world-famous adventurer driven by intellect, grit, and an unshakable sense of purpose.

Turner leads an ensemble cast stacked with prestige and genre power. Joining her are Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie, and August Wittgenstein.
At the helm is Phoebe Waller-Bridge, serving as creator, writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner. Known for her sharp wit and character-driven storytelling in ‘Fleabag,’ Waller-Bridge teams up with Chad Hodge as co-showrunner and executive producer. Direction duties are led by Jonathan Van Tulleken, who also executive produces.
The production is backed by a powerhouse lineup including Amazon MGM Studios, Crystal Dynamics, Legendary Television, and Story Kitchen, with executive producers Jenny Robins, Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, Timothy I. Stevenson, Dallas Dickinson, and Michael Scheel. Matt McInnis and Jan R. Martin serve as co-executive producers.
