Lynne Ramsay’s adapatation of the accalimed Lionel Shriver novel We Need to Talk About Kevin unveils itself in the next few weeks as part of the 64th Cannes Film Festival and looks certain to bring the controversial and bleak story to the screen with style.

Certainly the nature of the novel and its subject matter will make for an intense film, and Tilda Swinton and John C. Reilly have the uneviable task of examining their broken family life following their son’s role in a high-school massacre. The clips don’t suggest an easy watch and the interplay glimpsed here is thick with subdued emotions.

We’ve seen a few stills from the production already but now three short clips have surfaced and are the perfect introduction to the film which won’t see a UK cinema release until the 2nd of September.
