Thor:-The-Dark-World-UK-Quad-PosterPhase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is so close to continuing, with Thor: The Dark World landing on our shores at the end of the month, and across the Atlantic in early November.

The hugely anticipated sequel follows on from Iron Man 3 in the studio’s line-up, serving as a sequel not only to the original Thor, but also to Joss Whedon’s The Avengers. And now two new international TV spots have surfaced, with the first below specifically alluding to Whedon’s epic blockbuster.

Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Tom Hiddleston are once more taking the lead as Thor, Jane Foster, and Loki. And the trio are joined by another stellar cast, headed up by Christopher Eccleston, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Tadanobu Asano, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Chris O’Dowd, and Rene Russo.

Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) is at the helm for the sequel, and he’s directing from a script penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: The First Avenger) and Christopher Yost (The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes).

Thor: The Dark World will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on 30th October in the UK, with its US release date following soon after on November 8th.
