This-Is-The-End-PosterSeth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s highly anticipated This Is The End is hitting cinemas in the US next Wednesday, and I have a very good feeling that it’s going to be an awesome opening weekend for the apocalyptic comedy, evening whilst facing incredibly tough competition in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel.

The duo are making their long-awaited directorial debut. And having written some of the funniest films in recent years, things are definitely looking good for their first feature behind the camera.

With just under a week left on the clock before its release across the Atlantic, Yahoo Movies have released another awesome red-band TV spot, giving us a great new look at the film, which earns a top spot (and then some) amongst our must-see movies of the month.

Six friends are trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.

Rogen is not only behind the camera, but also in front. And he stars alongside an awesome cast, with James Franco, Jay Baruchel, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson completing the sextet. And joining them are a slew of famous faces, including Emma Watson, Jason Segel, Michael Cera, Paul Rudd, Aziz Ansari, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Martin Starr, David Krumholtz, Kevin Hart, and Rihanna.

Rogen and Goldberg are directing from a script they co-wrote, based on an original story by Goldberg and Jason Stone, with the three having worked together on the original short, Jay and Seth Versus the Apocalypse.

The film has been gaining some serious positive buzz in early screenings out in the US, which should all help boost the word of mouth as we head towards its release next week.

This Is The End will be released in the US next Wednesday, June 12th, giving it a two-day lead on Man of steel. Its UK release date is set for a little later in the month on June 28th. I cannot wait.
