Saam Das is the man behind Faded Glamour, one of the finest UK Movie and Music blogs on the face of the internets and he contacted me and a number of my blogging contemporaries to list our top films of 2010 with a view to drawing together a top 50. Man of his word a few days ago he published that list and it makes for interesting reading.

Here’s a link to the whole list, and while many of the usual suspects are present there are a few surprises which is handy if you’re looking to catch up on some great films from last year this is a good place to start.

Mother, Whip It and Four Lions were high on my list and you’ll see those and others well represented on the list and it’s interesting to see how high Kick-Ass and Scott Pilgrim placed, given that the films didn’t do amazingly at the box office but were critically lauded, particularly by the online critics.

At the start of the year I had high hopes for a few of the films I know were coming our way in 2010, but far more enjoyable were the surprises and while 2011 will see the front rows feeling the considerable force from the franchise machine spitting out sequels and remakes I’m hoping there will be many more surprises to come.
