The Testament of Ann Lee Red Carpet Interviews
Plot:
The Testament of Ann Lee tells the extraordinary true story of Ann Lee, the charismatic founder of the Shakers, a radical devotional movement built on equality, communal living and spiritual devotion. Preaching gender and social equality in a deeply divided era, Lee was revered by her followers and feared by those who viewed her beliefs as dangerous heresy. As persecution mounts, she attempts to build a utopian society driven by faith, vision and collective devotion.
The film leans boldly into musical expression, featuring more than a dozen traditional Shaker hymns reimagined as ecstatic, cinematic movements, with choreography by Celia Rowlson-Hall and an original score and songs by Daniel Blumberg.
