Netflix have released its very own trailer for true crime docu-series The Staircase to mark the series making its way to the streaming giant on the 8th June.

The thirteen-part documentary series will be accompanied by three all-new episodes to run alongside the original series.

Before Making A Murderer and The Keepers was ‘The Staircase’ – the compelling story of Michael Peterson, a wealthy crime novelist accused of killing wife Kathleen after she is found dead at the bottom of a staircase in the family’s North Carolina mansion. What followed was an intense 16-year judicial battle, captured in unprecedented detail by Academy Award-winning documentarian Jean-Xavier de Lestrade (Murder on a Sunday Morning).

Documentary filmmaker, Jean-Xavier de Lestrade was granted unprecedented access to the case immediately following Kathleen’s death in the Peterson’s North Carolina mansion. De Lestrade’s cameras were on hand to capture every moment of this extraordinary story from arrest to verdict, following in intimate detail Peterson’s home, the family and his defence team as it considered its strategic options.
