The-Secret-Life-of-Walter-Mitty-Poster-MountainBen Stiller’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty has snowballed into one of the biggest contenders in the upcoming awards season. The movie marks the mutli-hyphenate’s return to the director’s chair for his first film since 2008’s Oscar-nominated Tropic Thunder, and the anticipation has naturally been on high for a while now.

The first trailer launched over the summer, and momentum has been building nicely in recent weeks. And after the reveal of the first teaser poster last week, the second poster in the series has now landed online, switching out the New York City skyline for a mountain, over which Stiller is walking on air.

Ben Stiller directs and stars in THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, James Thurber’s classic story of a day-dreamer who escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance and action. When his job along with that of his co-worker (Kristen Wiig) are threatened, Walter takes action in the real world embarking on a global journey that turns into an adventure more extraordinary than anything he could have ever imagined.

Kristen Wiig stars opposite him as the female lead, with a stellar ensemble led by Adam Scott, Sean Penn, Kathryn Hahn, Patton Oswalt, and Shirley MacLaine.

Stiller is directing from a script penned by Steve Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness), with the movie remaking the 1947 film of the same name, which is itself based on the original short story by James Thurber.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty will arrive in US cinemas on Christmas Day, with its UK release date set a day later on Boxing Day.
