The-Numbers-Station-PosterThe Numbers Station marks Danish director Kasper Barfoed’s English language debut, and he’s assembled a brilliant leading cast with which to do it in the form of John Cusack (High Fidelity) and Malin Åkerman (Watchmen).

The thriller will be arriving in US theatres this spring, and now Yahoo Movies have debuted the first trailer and poster, giving us our first look at the film.

“After his latest mission goes disastrously wrong, veteran CIA black ops agent Emerson Kent is given one last chance to prove he still has what it takes to do his job. His new assignment: guarding Katherine, a code operator at a top-secret remote CIA “Numbers Station” where encrypted messages are sent and received. When an elite team of heavily armed assailants lays siege to the station, Emerson and Katherine suddenly find themselves in a life-or-death struggle against an unknown enemy. With the station compromised and innocent lives at stake, they must stop the deadly plot before it’s too late.”

Starring alongside Cusack and Åkerman will be Hannah Murray (Skins), Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones), Lucy Griffiths (True Blood), Bryan Dick (All the Small Things), Richard Brake (Above Suspicion: Deadly Intent), and Joey Ansah (U.F.O.).

Barfoed is directing from a script penned by F. Scott Frazier, who makes his feature debut here as a screenwriter.

I’m a big fan of both Cusack and Åkerman, and will happily head out to see either of their latest movies. So naturally, The Numbers Station is one I’ll be looking forward to this spring.

The Numbers Station has its US release date set for 26th April and May 27th in the UK, but the film is a British co-production, so hopefully a distributor will fall into place soon. For now, here’s the first trailer to get you hooked, alongside the first poster.
