The creative combination of director Jonathan Levine, Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have had a notable success in the recent past. With 50/50 they managed to skillfully wring pure droplets of heartwarm and hilarity out of a cancer diagnosis. Now it’s Christmas’s turn.
The Night Before is this year’s big Christmas comedy, taking as its theme the unstoppable onslaught of adulthood upon three childhood friends who are getting too old for their hedonistic festive traditions.
So then, one last blast. One final foray into the world of seasonal debauchery as Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen and Anthony Mackie head into the good night, aiming for the Nutcracka Ball. Which is as family-friendly as it sounds.
