We’re almost at the end of our time at the 2017 Toronto International FIlm Festival, but we have a few fun events to report on before the end. This evening saw the premiere of Hany Abu-Assad’s The Mountain Between Us, which was written by J. Mills Goodloe from the novel by Charles Martin. The film stars Kate Winslet, Idris Elba, Dermot Mulroney, and Beau Bridges.

Telling a tale of perilous survival following a plane crash, the film has two fine leads in Winslet and Elba, and we managed to speak to some of the cast as well as editor Lee Percy and cinematographer Mandy Walker, whose previous work includes Hidden Figures and Baz Luhrmann’s Australia.

The film is released on the 6th of October in the US and the UK. Stefan Pape and Dave Sztypuljak were on the red carpet this evening, here’s how they got on.
