The-Lego-Movie-Poster-sliceAfter breaking records for Warner Bros. at the US box office last weekend, grossing north of m. in its first three days, The Lego Movie is finally arriving on our shores today, giving a family-friendly alternative to the more romantic Valentine’s fare.

Adding to all the great things we’ve seen from the animated blockbuster already, Warner Bros. have released a new blooper reel, sure to be a favourite amongst the special features whenever the film hits the shelves later this year.

The Lego Movie follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

Chris Pratt of course lends his voice as Emmet, the ordinary LEGO mini-figure, with Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Alison Brie, and Nick Offerman lending their voices alongside him.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street) are behind the camera, directing from their own script, based on a story they co-wrote with Dan and Kevin Hageman (Hotel Transylvania).

The Lego Movie is now playing in 2D and 3D in the US and UK, arriving in cinemas on our shores today. And in case you’re still in need of any persuasion, you can read our review to convince you of its awesomeness. Enjoy.
