The tale of Tarzan has prompted numerous big screen incarnations, with Disney’s animated take being one of the more successful in recent years.
Warner Bros. have resurrected Edgar Rice Burroughs’ most famous creation for another cinematic go around, striking casting gold with Alexander Skarsgård and Margot Robbie.
There’s a new trailer in the wild today and gives a good look at what’s in store.
It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left thejungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.
The film is directed by Harry Potter man David Yates and has a supporting cast of Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Djimon Hounsou. The film is out on the 8th of July this year.
