Netflix has released the official trailer for ‘The Hawk,’ an all-new comedy series starring Will Ferrell as legendary golfer Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins.
The 10-episode comedy arrives on the streaming platform on July 16 and follows a former golfing icon determined to prove he still has one last championship run left in him.
The series features an ensemble cast that includes Molly Shannon, Jimmy Tatro, Fortune Feimster and Luke Wilson alongside Ferrell.
In ‘The Hawk,’ Lonnie Hawkins was once the undisputed king of the golfing world, earning the title of the number one golfer in 2004. But years later, the game has changed, his body is wearing down, and many believe his best days are behind him.
Lonnie, however, refuses to accept retirement.
Despite concerns from his ex-wife and his son Lance, who has become golf’s newest superstar, Lonnie remains convinced that he is only one swing away from a historic comeback. With a chance to complete golf’s elusive Grand Slam by winning one final major championship, he sets out on a journey to reclaim his place among the sport’s greatest legends.
‘The Hawk’ is executive produced by Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor for Gloria Sanchez Productions.
Additional executive producers include Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman and Nena Rodrigue for T-Street, alongside Chris Henchy, Harper Steele, David Gordon Green and Andrew Guest.
