Netflix has unveiled the official main trailer for its upcoming six-part limited series, ‘The Bombing of Pan Am 103,’ a powerful dramatisation of one of the darkest chapters in British history. The series premieres globally on 30 July.
Based on the testimony of those who lived through the tragedy and its aftermath, ‘The Bombing of Pan Am 103’ tells the true story of the devastating terrorist attack that claimed 270 lives and the decades-long pursuit of justice that followed.
On 21 December 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 exploded in the skies above the Scottish town of Lockerbie, killing all 259 passengers and crew onboard, as well as 11 people on the ground. The bombing remains the deadliest act of terrorism ever committed on British soil and sparked the largest murder investigation in the history of Scottish policing.
The series explores the unprecedented collaboration between Scottish investigators and US law enforcement as they worked tirelessly to uncover those responsible. Alongside the criminal investigation, it also shines a light on the resilience of the victims’ families and their relentless fight for answers and accountability over the years.
Leading the cast is Connor Swindells (SAS Rogue Heroes, Sex Education), joined by Patrick J. Adams (Suits, A League of Their Own), Merritt Wever (Unbelievable, Severance), Peter Mullan (Ozark, Payback), Tony Curran (Mary & George, Mayflies), Eddie Marsan (The Power, Ray Donovan), Nicholas Gleaves (After The Flood, The Rising) and Kevin McKidd (Grey’s Anatomy, Six Four).
The series is written by Jonathan Lee and directed by Michael Keillor.
