With just over a month left to go until Joss Whedon’s highly anticipated The Avengers is released, we’ve seen a brilliant step-up in the promotional campaign in recent weeks, getting a brand new US trailer last month, as well as six brilliant character posters this week, and a new Japanese trailer and poster just yesterday.

Adding to that, we now have four awesome new character to banners to share with you, the first of which is an amalgamation of the six character posters we saw this week, and the remaining three are just a little bit excellent too, featuring Iron Man and the Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, and Captain America and Thor.

The latest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes with the visionary Whedon behind the camera, directing from his own script, and will feature all of our favourite superheroes that we’ve come to know and love over the past few years, including Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr., with Paul Bettany returning as JARVIS), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo, taking over from Edward Norton), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg), Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and Loki (Tom Hiddleston).

Here in the UK, the title has been officially altered to Avengers Assemble – so when you see that ‘The Avengers’ isn’t playing in your local cinema, there’ll be no need to panic, because it’s the same film just playing under a different name.

Avengers Assemble will be with us here in the UK on 27th April, before heading out to the US as The Avengers a week later on 4th May, and will be viewable in 3D and IMAX 3D. This is going to be immense. For all our coverage of The Avengers / Avengers Assemble, you can click right here. And as usual with these brilliant new banners, you can click to enlarge.

(Does anyone else love Scarlett Johansson’s calm and collected pose as Black Widow?)
