James Cameron’s Avatar won a few but the big news of the night was that the Kathryn Bigelow has become the first woman to win Best Director for her movie, The Hurt Locker which won an awesome six awards taking both the biggies which included Best Picture as well as Best Director. Bigelow was seemingly in great shock when her film was read out twice in rather rapid succession as the night climaxed into a Hurt Locker fest!! The other shock for me was niether The White Rabbit or A Prophet winning Best Film.
