Thor: Ragnorok’s Tessa Thompson is expanding her relationship with Disney. The Sorry to Bother You actress has landed herself the voice role of Lady in their forthcoming live-action/CGI remake of Lady and the Tramp.

Justin Theroux has also been added to the voice cast to star opposite as the voice of Tramp.  The Lego Ninjago Movie filmmaker Charlie Bean is directing the remake from a script by Andrew Bujalski. The remake is expected to make its debut on Disney’s own streaming service in 2019.

Theroux and Thompson join already cast Ashley Jensen as Scottish Terrier Jackie, Benedict Wong as English bulldog Bull, and Kiersey Clemons as Lady’s human owner Darling.

The 1955 animated musical Lady and The Tramp tells the story of a female American Cocker Spaniel named Lady who lives with a refined, upper-middle-class family, and a male stray mongrel called the Tramp. When the two dogs meet, they embark on many romantic adventures and fall in love. A direct-to-video sequel, Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure, was released in 2001.

Thompson is currently starring in Boots Riley’s Sorry to Bother You in the US, European distributors have recently come under fire for their lack of interest in picking up the titles for distribution outside of the US due to racial issue’s. Thompson will also be reunited with Chris Hemsworth in the forthcoming Men in Black Spin-Off.

Theroux stars in next week’s release of The Spy Who Dumped Me alongside Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon. He also voices the character of Dropkick in the Transformers spin-off Bumblebee and will also be seen in Justine Bateman’s Violet.
