‘Orphan Black’ breakout star Tatiana Maslany has landed the role of the title character for Marvel’s ‘She-Hulk’.

The series, which will broadcast on Disney+ sees Kat Coiro will direct numerous episodes and act as a producer. ‘Rick and Morty’ scribe, Jessica Gao, has already been tapped to lead the writer’s room.

She-Hulk aka Jennifer Walters is an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk. An emergency blood transfusion from her cousin gives Walters her powers, but unlike Banner/Hulk, She-Hulk was able to keep her intelligence and personality when she Hulked out.

‘She-Hulk is one of several Marvel (and the last from Stan Lee) series in the works at Disney Plus, with several others set to feature stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ and ‘WandaVision’ will make their debuts later this year, followed by ‘Loki’ in early 2021.

Maslany is better known for her Emmy-winning role in ‘Orphan Black’. She has recently starred in HBO’s ‘Perry Mason’ opposite Matthew Rhys. On the film side, she has been seen in the Lionsgate pic ‘Stronger’ and ‘Destroyer’.
