Taron Egerton is currently at the Sundance Film Festival to promote Eddie The Eagle, but as he readies himself to shoot both Robin Hood: Origins and Kingsman 2, the up and coming British actor provided some intriguing new details on what’s to come in the latter.

We already know Matthew Vaughn has written the follow-up and will return to direct, and according to Egerton, the filmmaker’s plans for the movie are even bigger than expected.

“With Kingsman, we’re shooting in the summer at present. There’s a script, it’s brilliant,” he revealed in a chat with Empire. “Obviously there’s only so much I can say but what I can say is that we shot the first one all in the UK, that won’t be the case with the next one. It’s a far more international story, we’re going to some incredible places, and we have a villain to rival Samuel L. Jackson – this new one is so brilliantly written I wish I could play it. It’s amazing.”

While Kingsman: The Secret Service was based on Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons’ comic book of the same name, Vaughn is going to be coming up with a story of his own for the sequel. Rumours are also swirling about Colin Firth making a return, so it’s going to be interesting to see how this one develops over the coming months as it begins shooting!
