Tammy-Teaser-Poster-sliceAfter starring opposite Jason Bateman in the road trip-esque comedy, The Identity Thief, last year, Melissa McCarthy is taking centre stage this time around in Tammy.

Warner Bros. have released the first teaser trailer and poster for the R-rated comedy, promising that it will be ‘coming in hot’ in cinemas this summer.

Tammy (McCarthy) is having a bad day. She’s totaled her clunker car, gotten fired from her thankless job at a greasy burger joint, and instead of finding comfort at home, finds her husband getting comfortable with the neighbor in her own house.

It’s time to take her boom box and book it. The bad news is she’s broke and without wheels. The worse news is her grandma, Pearl (Sarandon), is her only option—with a car, cash, and an itch to see Niagara Falls. Not exactly the escape Tammy had in mind. But on the road, with grandma riding shot gun, it may be just what Tammy needs.

Susan Sarandon stars opposite McCarthy in the leading duo, with Allison Janney, Toni Collette, and Sandra Oh completing the female-led ensemble, with Dan Aykroyd and Kathy Bates appearing alongside them.

Actor-turned-filmmaker Ben Falcone makes his feature directorial debut, with McCarthy and Falcone writing the script together. McCarthy also produces alongside Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, with Falcone executive producing alongside Kevin Messick.

Tammy will be hitting hard on July 2nd in the US, before arriving in the UK that Friday, 4th July.
