Taika Waititi returned to Hunt for the Wilderpeople for its 10th Anniversary Junket in London, sitting down with HeyUGuys to reflect on a decade since the film first charmed audiences worldwide. Candid and characteristically warm, Waititi discussed rewatching the film for the first time in years, why its unapologetic charm still resonates in “tough times,” and shared a tender, funny tribute to his late co-star and friend Sam Neill — before signing off the only way he knows how, with a spontaneous haiku.

Plot:
Ricky Baker, a defiant young city kid, is sent to live with foster parents Bella and Hec in the remote New Zealand bush. When tragedy strikes, Ricky finds himself on the run with his cantankerous foster uncle Hec, and the unlikely pair become the subjects of a nationwide manhunt, forced to put aside their differences and work together to survive.
