Later this year Sylvester Stallone brings together numerous 80s, 90s and current day action heroes to create The Expendables. We’ve come to expect relatively good things from the actor, director after he revitalised both Rocky and Rambo in the last few years. There was talk of Rambo coming back to the big screen in another movie but from the sound of it, Rambo is done and dusted.

During an interview with Empire magazine, Stallone said “I think Rambo’s pretty well done. I don’t think there’ll be any more. I’m about 99% sure”. He goes on to say:

“I was going to do it. I said I’d never talk about this, but with I feel that with Rocky Balboa, that character came complete circle. He went home. But for Rambo to go on another adventure might be, I think, misinterpreted as a mercenary gesture and not necessary. I don’t want that to happen.

“I’m very happy with the last Burmese episode, because I didn’t pull any punches on it,” he continued. “I wanted it to be what civil war really is – rough. You can’t candy coat it, and where do you go from there? So that’s [Rambo V] going to go.”

This is a bit disappointing as we were all readying for another movie which now looks like it’s not going to happen. I guess we now have a 1% chance of it being made. Head over to Empire to view the interview in full and find out about Rambo directors cut which looks like it’s going to be coming out soon.
