20th Century Studios has dropped the first trailer for ‘Swiped,’ the inspiring new drama set to debut exclusively on Disney+ on September 19, 2025, following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9.

Inspired by the provocative true story of Whitney Wolfe, the visionary founder of the online dating platform Bumble, the movie follows a recent college graduate (played by Lily James) as she navigates the male-dominated tech world with relentless grit, innovation, and courage. Determined to rewrite the rules of modern romance and empower women in digital spaces, Wolfe launches not one but two groundbreaking dating apps, setting herself on a path to becoming the youngest female self-made billionaire.

Directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg (Unpregnant) and written by Goldenberg alongside Bill Parker and Kim Caramele, the film blends sharp wit with a rousing underdog story about ambition, resilience, and the cost of disrupting an industry.

The stellar supporting cast includes Jackson White (Tell Me Lies), Myha’la (Industry), Ben Schnetzer, Pierson Fodé, Clea DuVall, Pedro Correa, Ian Colleti, Coral Peña, and Dan Stevens. Producers Jennifer Gibgot, Andrew Panay, and Lily James herself bring a dynamic, character-driven energy to the project.

The trailer teases tense boardroom battles, bold creative gambles, and personal sacrifices, all set against the high-stakes backdrop of Silicon Valley’s ruthless startup culture. With James at the centre delivering a performance equal parts fierce and vulnerable, Swiped promises a compelling exploration of ambition and empowerment in the digital age.
