The early exploits of Charles and Erik (aka Professor X and Magneto) will be hitting cinema screen in just under two months time in the guise of X-Men: First Class, and Total Film have created some fantastic-looking tie-in retro magazine covers, which you can see below.

Underneath those is a truly fabulous fan-made Saul Bass-inspired opening credits sequence to the film. The artist behind this (credited as Joe D!) has clearly put much effort into recreating the look of feel of the decade in which the film is set.

On the strength of both efforts here, it wouldn’t hurt for Fox (the studio behind this prequel) to sit up and take note, particularly in light of their incredibly lacklustre promotional imagery from last month.

Enjoy, my mutant brethren…..
