Sky and STARZ have unveiled the teaser trailer for Season 2 of ‘Sweetpea,’ with Ella Purnell returning as wallflower-turned-killer Rhiannon Lewis in the darkly comic thriller.
Following the events of the first season, Rhiannon finds herself navigating a new promotion, an irresistible new romance and a dangerous copycat killer who threatens to expose her murderous secret. As her kill list continues to grow, Rhiannon is forced to confront an increasingly uncomfortable question: was her seemingly perfect ex, AJ, right about her all along? Is she actually a monster?
The new season sees Purnell (Fallout, Yellowjackets) reprise her role as Rhiannon, whose attempt to build a new life becomes increasingly complicated as her violent past begins to catch up with her.
Rish Shah (Overcompensating, Joy) joins the cast as Rhiannon’s new romantic interest, Gabriel, while Tamsin Greig (Riot Women, Friday Night Dinner) plays Liv, AJ’s mother. Taj Atwal (Riot Women, Line of Duty) stars as Freya, Rhiannon’s formidable new boss at the Carnsham Gazette, and Jenny Walser (Heartstopper, Star City) plays Daisy, Rhiannon’s new friend.
Returning cast members include Jon Pointing (Big Boys, Run Away), Jeremy Swift (Ted Lasso, Downton Abbey), Leah Harvey (Foundation, The Scurry), Ingrid Oliver (Thursday Murder Club, Doctor Who), Nitin Ganatra (Mr Bigstuff, Sexy Beast) and Alexandra Dowling (Emily, Game of Thrones).
The series is adapted from C.J. Skuse’s novel of the same name and is produced by See-Saw Films and fanboy in association with Sky Studios.
