Blake Lively has been doing brilliantly in recent years making a name for herself on the big screen, having already starred in The CW’s incredibly popular Gossip Girl. She starred opposite Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner in the Oscar-nominated The Town, and has most recently taken a leading role in Oliver Stone’s Savages.
The film was released in North and South America this month, and has been doing very well at the box office against the likes of The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises, and now a great new image of Lively has made its way online ahead of its release in the coming months in dozens of further territories across the globe.
“Blake Lively plays the gal pal of two Laguna Beach drug dealers (Aaron Johnson and Taylor Kitsch) who is kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel who wants to move in on their turf. Del Toro plays the cartel enforcer with Uma Thurman as Lively’s Mom, Salma Hayek as the leader of the cartel, John Travolta as a burnt-out DEA agent, the recently Oscar-nominated Demian Bichir as a double-crossing attorney who represents Hayek’s cartel, Joel David Moore as a computer nerd and Emile Hirsch in an unnamed role.”
Lively is joined by an awesome cast, headed up by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Taylor Kitsch, Benicio del Toro, John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Emile Hirsch, and Salma Hayek.
Stone is directing from a script he co-wrote with Shane Salerno and Don Winslow, based on Winslow’s original best-selling crime novel.
Savages is currently playing in theatres in the US, and will be released here in the UK on 28th September, a date I cannot wait for. As usual with this great new image, you can click to enlarge.
