When the teaser trailer and date announcement for season 2 of one of Netflix’s most original and probably one of their best shows, Stranger Things, surfaced just seven days ago, fans of the series nearly lost their mind with utter excitement. Well, the sci-fi fans may just go a little bonkers over the first look images that have been released.

The teaser trailer – which aired during last Sunday’s Superbowl – Took us on a nostalgic trip back to the 80’s with its commercial within the trailer for Eggo Waffles. During the hype of the original Ghostbusters movie the young cast – who are all returning – are seen dressed in the Ghostbusters costumes as eerie, and quite frankly, downright scary images unfold before our very eyes.
Stranger Things 2 is set a year after Will’s return, everything seems back to normal… but a darkness lurks just beneath the surface, threatening all of Hawkins, and that folks, is all we know at this point or do we? Just three days, Entertainment Weekly reported that plot details had been released. It is said that over the course of the series we will explore the effect Will Byers’ trip to the Upside Down has had on him psychically and mentally. He constantly sees images from the Upside Down but are they real or not?
As well as the young cast returning, Winona Ryder is back as Will’s mother Joyce. This time she gets a real love interest in the form of newcomer Sean Astin who plays her former high school classmate Bob, a man who she thinks can be a stable father figure for her children. Meanwhile, Hopper (David Harbour) has a time of it keeping the events of the Upside Down a secret from the town to protect Joyce and her family.

Stranger Things 2 comes to Netflix on October 31st.
