Steven Soderbergh has taken up the mantel to direct New Line and HBO Max feature ‘Kimi’ which stars Zoe Kravitz in the lead.
The project is Soderbergh’s first after signing a three year overall deal with the streamer earlier this year.
Kravitz will play an agoraphobic tech worker who discovers recorded evidence of a violent crime during an ordinary data stream review and tries reporting it up the chain of command at her company. Met with resistance and bureaucracy, she realizes that in order to get involved, she will have to do the thing she fears the most — leave her apartment.
David Koepp has penned the script, Koepp will also produce alongside Michael Polaire.
Kravitz most recent credits include the TV series ‘High Fidelity’ and ‘Big Little Lies.’ She will also appear alongside Robert Pattinson as Catwoman in Matt Reeves ‘The Batman’.
Soderbergh latest ‘Let Them All Talk’ featuring Meryl Streep was released on HBO Max back in December. Another of his projects ‘No Sudden Move’ starring Don Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro, David Harbour, Jon Hamm, Ray Liotta, Kieran Culkin, Brendan Fraser and Noah Jupe is also set for the streamer.
