Here’s some exciting news for fans of old-school action flicks. Sylvester Stallone has revealed who will be replacing original helmer Wayne Cramer on new action film Headshot.

He’s managed to procure the talents of legendary action director Walter Hill. Many will recall that Hill was behind such genre favourites of The Driver, The Warriors, Southern Comfort and 48 Hrs., but in recent years he’s been away from cinema screens (although according to IMDb, he has a new feature being released next year). He also contributed to the story for Aliens and was involved in writing the screenplay for the third film.

Stallone delivered the new to Ain’t It Cool, where he mentioned that he was actually up for parts in both The Driver and the 1982 Nick Nolte/Eddie Murphy hit action comedy.

It will be interesting to see if the actor and his director can come up with something that is reminiscent of those earlier years, where both were pretty much at the top of their game.
