Over the weekend, during the Brazil Comic Con, Sony Pictures released the first official teaser for their forthcoming, Spider-man animated cinematic feature, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.

The animation, which isn’t a part of the Marvel cinematic universe will not focus on Peter Parker but Miles Morales, another popular version of the character, first introduced in August 2011 in Ultimate Fallout #4. Like Peter Parker, he was bitten by a radioactive spider and developed superpowers, and became Spider-Man after the Green Goblin killed Peter. this stand-alone feature is looking very much like an origin story for Morales role as the new Spider-Man, opening the door to many more.

Miles Morales will be voiced by The Get Down’s Shameik Moore.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind. “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.
