Revealed during tonight’s MTV Movie Awards, we finally have our first proper look at Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and it’s fair to say that it looks…well, fantastic!

In the movie, Eddie Redmayne stars as wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter movies. The screenplay meanwhile was penned by the author of the Harry Potter novels, J.K. Rowling.

Talking of Harry, there are a couple of nods to his world here, including a slightly different take on a very familiar theme and the mention of a certain Professor Albus Dumbledore.

According to the first official synopsis for the movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

The cast also includes Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Ron Perlman, Carmen Ejogo, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove, and Colin Farrell, and it’s currently set to be released worldwide on November 18, 2016.
