DreamWorks Animation has officially lifted the curtain on the first teaser trailer for ‘Shrek 5,’ pulling audiences back into a fairy tale world that refuses to grow old, no matter how many onions you peel. The beloved ogre, once again voiced by comedy icon Mike Myers, returns to the big screen alongside the endlessly chaotic charm of Eddie Murphy as Donkey and the regal warmth of Cameron Diaz as Fiona.
But the swamp isn’t just reopening old doors. It’s getting a new generation of chaos.
Enter Zendaya, joining the franchise as Felicia, the daughter of Shrek and Fiona, bringing a fresh spark of fairy tale royalty with a modern edge. Alongside her are her brothers Fergus and Farkle, played by Marcello Hernandez and Skyler Gisondo, rounding out a new generation of swamp-born mischief.
Helming the return journey are franchise veterans Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn.
Since the original ‘Shrek’ reshaped animation history in 2001, winning the first-ever Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, the franchise has become a pop culture kingdom of its own. It’s a place where fairy tale rules bend, break, and occasionally get sat on by talking donkeys.
And now, that kingdom is ready to roar again.
