The first episode of Season 4 of the BBC’s Sherlock will air on the 1st of January, 2017. Revealed post-climax of last night’s final edition of The Great British Bake Off the broadcaster confirmed, via a trailer reveal, that the new year will begin with what many think will be the final stretch for Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Holmes and Watson.
The first episode will be transmitted on New Year’s Day 2017 is entitled ‘The Six Thatchers’, which presumably isn’t a seasonal nightmare involving a group of rogue Tories, some recovered DNA and a cloning machine. The second episode will be called ‘The Lying Detective’ which throws us all into a tizz. There is a third episode which has no name thus far.
Here’s the new trailer, which – before you get too excited is enormously similar to the trailer already revealed. This new look, however, has the date of transmission – which make it very important indeed.
