Sinister and Seven Psychopaths will be going head-to-head at the US box office next weekend, and we’ve seen plenty of excellent things from both of them in recent months.

The first is Scott Derrickson’s return to the horror genre with Ethan Hawke starring in the lead, and if you’ve seen any of the film’s trailers – the most recent red-band trailer hitting last week – you’ll know that we’re in for some chills and thrills.

The second is Martin McDonagh’s reteam with Colin Farrell after the Oscar-nominated In Bruges, and sees Farrell starring alongside an all-star cast, headed up by Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Christopher Walken, Abbie Cornish, Olga Kurylenko, and Tom Waits.

Two very different movies, with two fairly different audiences. And what better way to enjoy the anticipation of their big screen arrival than with a mash-up/spoof trailer, combining the two films into one, Seven Sinister Psychopaths.

Sinister will be released in the UK this Friday, 5th October, before heading to the US next weekend for a 12th October release. The footage we’ve seen so far has been pretty awesome in the scares department, and we’re looking forward to seeing how it plays out at the weekend.

Seven Psychopaths will be released in the US first next weekend on 12th October, and will then head to the UK for a 7th December release. McDonagh’s latest won him the Midnight Madness Award at TIFF – you can read our review here – and we naturally can’t wait for his and Farrell’s reunion.

For now, here’s what it would look like if McDonagh’s Shiz Tzu took the terrifying role in Derrickson’s horror.
