Rush-Character-Poster-Chris-HemsworthReturning behind the camera for his first film since 2011’s The Dilemma, Ron Howard promises to bring us back to the blockbuster genre this autumn/fall with Rush.

Charting the real-life rivalry between F1 drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda, the film stars Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl in the leads, and has recently been announced as making its international premiere at TIFF this September.

To add to the wealth of great things we’ve seen from the film so far, most recently including the latest adrenaline-fuelled trailer, StudioCanal have released two new characters, giving us a look at Hunt the Playboy and Lauda the Perfectionist.

RUSH portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed—handsome English playboy James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl). Set against the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing, Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error.

Starring alongside Hemsworth and Brühl is a great cast, led by Olivia Wilde, Alexandra Maria Lara, and Natalie Dormer.

Howard is at the helm, with a script penned by Peter Morgan. The two worked together on Howard’s Oscar-nominated Frost/Nixon, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what they bring to the big screen this time around.

Rush will be heading into UK cinemas on 13th September, a week ahead of its US release date, set for September 20th.
