Eggers wrote ‘Werwulf’ with Sjón, who co-wrote the brutal Viking saga ‘The Northman’ with the filmmaker.
Both Eggers and Sjón will produce alongside Focus Features. Chris and Eleanor Columbus, who worked with Eggers on ‘Nosferatu,’ will executive produce.
The movie has been slated for a North America release on Christmas Day, 2026, following in the footsteps of the adaptation of ‘Nosferatu’ which has gone on to become a major hit.
